'The Writer's Eye' - Exhibition of photographs by William Dalrymple - 18 March 2016

In a suite of black and white photographs, shot over two years, William Dalrymple brought elegance, inquiry and grace to the photographic form.  `The Writer’s Eye’ hosted by Sunaparanta and curated by Sensorium Festival co-founder, Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi, marked the public debut of a gifted visual artist on 18th March 2016.  The pictures in ‘The Writer’s Eye’ were documents of landscape, conveying potent solitude and brooding strokes

HarperCollins India brought out a limited edition book, with an essay and photographs by William Dalrymple and an introduction by Siddharth Shanghvi himself.  Produced under the guidance of HC CEO Ananth Padmanabhan, this special book marked the first time a major publishing house has confirmed tremendous support to an art show, highlighting the emerging partnership between the arts and publishing models and the opening night sold close to 70 prints.

This exhibition remained open for public viewing until 31st May 2016 and thereafter travelled onwards to Vadehra Art Gallery, Delhi and Grosvenor Gallery, London.
