Film: The Prince of Tides (1991)

Directed by: Barbra Streisand

Cast: Nick Nolte, Barbra Streisand, Kate Nelligan, Blythe Danner

Run Time: 2 hrs 10 mins

About the Film:

Barbara Streisand is one of the giants of the American Cinema-an actress, singer, lyricist, director and a two-time Oscar winner.

The Prince of Tides is her beautiful, under-rated directorial high point about loss, family, abuse, romance, suicide and grief. The story of the relationship between a damaged schoolteacher and his sister's psychiatrist, the film explores the difficulty of overcoming past traumas and embracing the beauty of life's ordinariness.

With James Newton Howard's moving music score and Nick Nolte's career defining performance as a man trying to find value in his seemingly empty life, "The Prince of Tides" inspires all of us as we grapple to find our place in the universe and make the best of whatever life and love has to offer.

This film is based on the novel by Pat Conroy and nominated for 7 Oscars
