About the Film

One of the greatest musicals of all-time, this enduring classic is the musical adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion”, about a sexist phonetics teacher who teaches English to a Cockney flower girl.

Filled with classic songs like “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly”, “I could have danced all night” “The Rain In Spain” “I’m Getting Married in the Morning”  and “On the street where you live”, this  timeless film continues to charm, amuse and entertain but what is often forgotten is its subtle commentary about the changing of the guard in a sexist time with the women’s suffragette movement raging in the background.

Winner of 8 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actor!
