Sunaparanta was delighted to exhibit a new body of water colour works by Sweden’s most renowned illustrators, Stina Wirsen on 26th December 2016. Titled ‘Drawings in Water’, the show was curated by bestselling writer and Sensorium Festival co-founder, Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi.
Stina Wirsen spent two decades as a staff illustrator for Sweden’s largest morning paper ‘Dagens Nyheter’, focusing on the Culture section. Since 2000 she has held a number of lectures and workshops in Sweden and abroad. Over the years she has received several awards for her illustrations. She now devotes herself fully to her own projects, maintaining a vivid interest in contemporary cultural currents and expressions.
The opening was attended by prominent guests to name a few, Conor Macklin and family, Abha Housego- Vice President Saffronart-UK, Marianne Borgo, Kornelia Santoro, and a number of local artists.
The show was on view until the 20th of January 2017
