Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts presents a workshop series as part of its ongoing exhibition Continuum – Altered Trajectories, showcasing the individual and collaborative works of our mentees as part of Edition One of Sunaparanta Art Initiator Lab (SAIL).
This show marks the culmination of our mentorship programme, in which Goa-based creative practitioners underwent a process of developing their skills, aesthetics and an understanding of the professional cultural world.
Zine Making by illustrator Teamea Costa and artist Asavari Gurav
Zine making is a great way to self-publish artistic works. They can be experimental books, poems, stories, collage, photo-based works. The workshop is an exercise to critically understand and examine the interplay between text and image. Participants will learn about publishing their own zines through processes of assemblage, reproduction and printing.

Monotype Workshop by printmaker & designer Vijay Bhandare and artist Asavari Gurav
This workshop will examine the unconventional and alternative means of printmaking and explore expressiveness of a painted matrix and the idea of taking an imprint from a surface.

Teamea Costa is an illustrator with a background in architecture and design and works primarily in the areas of illustration and custom lettering. She takes on commissioned projects, in addition to shaping her own art label - BluToad. Determined to showcase the lesser-known facets of Goa, she creates fun and quirky Goa-themed merchandise that appeals to a broad audience. Free-hand sketching on paper is pivotal to her practice and she uses digital media to add layers to her artwork.
Asavari Gurav is a multidisciplinary artist who completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Masters of Visual Art in Graphic Arts (Printmaking) from M.S. University of Baroda. She has showcased her works in the Students’ Biennale ‘Annals: A Repository’ (2021); Goa Open Arts project at Sunaparanta, Goa Centre for the Arts (2021); `Dialogues in Wood’ by Goa Artists Collective (2021). She loves engaging with images and texts from life. She archives her world not only in her artworks but also through her Instagram posts and writings.
Vijay Bhandare is a printmaker, painter and designer. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Goa College of Art. Bhandare is specialized in portraiture, printmaking and painting and has participated in numerous art exhibitions at various art galleries in India, New Mexico, Sweden, USA, Busan, South Korea. He has received awards and merits for his artworks and his work has been collected in India and abroad.
