About the Film:
This relatively unsung Chinese film is a treat. Set in a small village during the Sino-Japanese war, the story is about a man who is entrusted with the job of looking after the most special dairy cow in the village. During the perils of the war, a 'friendship' is struck between the man and the cow and the chemistry between them is extraordinary. The performances both of the man and the cow stand out in this extremely charming, touchy and poignant film.
