Ceramic Handbuilding and Scrafitto workshop with Helen Kemp - 22 & 23 Feb 2014

Sunaparanta - Goa Centre for the Arts presents a Handbuilding and Scrafitto workshop by Helen Kemp on the 22nd and 23rd of February (this weekend), 10 am to 1 pm.

About Helen Kemp

Helen Kemp is an award winning ceramic artist from Scotland. Her work is inspired by Victorian Staffordshire pottery, North and South American folk art and Latin American magic realism. She hand models earthernware and uses underglaze colour and scraffito technique with transparent glazes and gold lustre. 

What will be covered?

Helen will begin with an introduction to the techniques involved, and a demonstration of how to make a pinch pot using ceramic and then create a sculpture - be it human, bird or animal.

Participants will then glaze their works which they can then take home
