A one-day workshop combining the Art of Haiku Poetry with Visual Art

26th April 2014 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
To explore the links between the word images of Haiku poetry and the visual responses that are generated by them. Participants would be introduced both to the particular structure and rhythms of Haiku writing and how to construct sympathetic illustrations for their compositions in the form of a scroll. The combination of Haiku with visual imagery is called Haiga but we will explore this partnership informally following some lead-in exercises in drawing and the use of water colour crayons.
