About the film: `Au Revoir Les Enfants (Goodbye, Children)’ is an autobiographical film written, produced and directed by Louis Malle.

A French boarding school run by priests seems to be a haven from World War II until a new student arrives.  He becomes the roommate of top student in his class.  Rivals at first, the roommates form a bond and share a secret.

Louis Malle was a French film director, screenwriter and producer.  His film Le Monde du Silence won the Palme d’Or and Academy Award for Best Documentary in 1956.  He was also nominated multiple time for Academy Awards later in his career

Au Revoir Les Enfants won the Golden Lion awar at the 1987 Venice Film Festival
