`Where the Flowers Still Grow' exhibition of works by Bharat Sikka opens 12 May 2017, 7 pm at Sunaparanta
Sunaparanta - Goa Centre for the Arts in partnership with Nature Morte, New Delhi opens ‘Where the Flowers Still Grow’ - an exhibition of works by Bharat Sikka on Friday, 12th May 2017 at 7 pm under the curation of Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi
Where the Flowers Still Grow is based on Bharat Sikka’s discovery of Mirza Waheed’s novel The Collaborator, which tells the story of a young Kashmiri man’s struggle with his own sense of self, buffeted by the exigencies of history and the present. This propelled Sikka to make numerous visits to Kashmir in 2014 and 2015, travelling throughout the region to photograph the people who live there, to attempt to make some sense of their dilemma through his own personal experience.
