This Wednesday, 31st May 2017 at 6.30 pm, Sunaparanta will host the screening of South Korean film ‘J.S.A. Joint Security Area’ at the Centre’s indoor gallery.
Name: J.S.A Joint Security Area (2000)
Director: Chan-wook Park
Starring: Byung-hun Lee, Yeong-ae Lee and Kang-ho Song
Run time: 1 hour 50 minutes
About the film:
Maj. Sophie E. Jean (Yeong-ae Lee) is assigned by the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission to solve a murder case involving the death of two soldiers on the North and South Korean border. Maj. Sophie does not take long to find a lack of consistency in the depositions written by the survivors and begins to press for the truth. The film is a fine blend of patriotism, friendship and betrayal.
Considered to be one of Chan-wook Park's best works, J.S.A is an anti war film extremely relevant to our times.
