About the Film
With three-time Oscar Winner Daniel Day Lewis 's impending retirement, it's a good time to revisit one of his greatest performances as Gerry Conlon, the innocent (but not saintly) Irishman who was arrested and imprisoned along with his family for an IRA (Irish Republican Army) bombing he did not commit. The film is a timely and horrifying reminder of the witch-hunt mob mentality that grips all justice systems when an angry public seeks retribution for a heinous crime.
Nominated for 7 Oscars, the film is also a moving father-son story, as they overcome their damaged relationship to comfort and support each other through the crisis.
Based on a true story!
TRIVIA: The film's soundtrack has original songs by Bono, Sinead O Connor and Gavin Friday
SCREENING WILL START AT 6.30 PM
