Sunaparanta - Goa Centre for the Arts invites you to an engaging and one-of-a-kind interaction with veteran photographer Ram Rahman on Wednesday, 18th December, 11.30 am.

Rahman will present a survey of photographers and their practices over the decades following Independence. His talk will focus on how their works reflect the country’s cultural and political shifts and how this visual history becomes a key to understanding politics, architecture, cinema, dance, literature and marginal identities.

Ram Rahman is known for his street photographs that combine his deep-rooted social awareness with an intense humanism.  He is one of the founding members of the Safdar Hashmi Memorial Trust (SAHMAT). In 2014, he received the Forbes India Art Award for his curated show, The Sahmat Collective: Art and Activism in India since 1989, at the Smart Museum of Art - Chicago, spanning two decades of contemporary Indian Art within the political sphere.
