Listen In | Webinar on Nature, Art & Our Collective Future | 09 June 2020, 5 pm

Sunaparanta - Goa Centre for the Arts presents Episode III of ListenIN titled Nature, Art & Our Collective Future, a conversation with contemporary artists Sheba Chhachhi & Ravi Agarwal.
Today, living in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, as we directly confront a fear of our own mortality, it becomes more apparent how vulnerable we are, and also how this event is connected to the way we have impacted our environment.
The discussion seeks to understand how nature is a complex idea, which needs to be re-thought for sustainable futures. Can a new relationship with nature be configured, and what would this new society look like?
Sheba Chhachhi works with lens-based images (still and moving), investigating questions of gender, equality, violence and visual culture. She often incorporates ancient iconography, myth and visual traditions to bring together an inquiry into the contemporary situation.

Ravi Agarwal is an artist, writer, curator, environmentalist whose work explores issues of urban space, ecology, capital in an interrelated way. He writes extensively on ecological issues and is founder director of the NGO Toxics Link.
