Theatre Workshop: Fifty Shades of Emotions with Keatan Jadhav | Beginning 24 April 2021

Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts is pleased to announce an intensive physical theatre workshop titled Fifty Shades of Emotions with Keatan Jadhav, founder and artistic director of Theatre Flamingo.

Inspired from the technique of Navarasa, this series focuses on the nine emotions that form the backbone of performance where the body turns into the main site of expression.

Incorporating posture, breath, stance, movement and sound to create dramatic stories, participants will learn about the emotional landscape available to performers. They will learn new vocabularies of emoting through sensory exercises and physical movements.

This workshop is open to all from any professional field, and is delivered by Theatre Flamingo, an experimental and mobile theatre company whose work is aimed at bringing theatre to rural India, activating villages across Goa and whose plays touch upon themes relevant to contemporary society.

Timing: Saturday 4pm - 7pm & Sunday 10am - 1pm

Age Group: 17+ years onwards

 

Keatan Jadhav is the founder and artistic director at Theatre Flamingo, Goa

After completing his masters in theatre, Jadhav founded TF Actors Lab in South Goa, to create a space focused on children’s theatre and intensive training in performance for theatre practitioners. He

has been developing acting and performance research with a strong focus on the body & emotions, spatial & energetic awareness and voice. Under TF Actors Lab, Jadhav conducts theatre workshops and curates theatre festivals all over India.
 
Jadhav is a recipient of mime research scholarship from Ministry of Culture.  As an actor he has performed in ITFOK (2019) and his short film A Cold Summer Night was selected in Locarno International Film Festival
