Variations on a Single Form, a performance-lecture by Akshay Mahajan

As part of our ongoing exhibition Makers and Materials: Goa Past and Present, join us on Saturday, 07 Feb 2026, 6pm for Variations on a Single Form, a performance-lecture by Akshay Mahajan.

Through objects from Goa’s Indo-Portuguese past — Christ figures, filigree caskets, ivory-inlaid tables, Goa stone holders — the work reflects on movement, memory, and displacement.

Blending history with personal and speculative reflection, the lecture listens to what objects carry beyond official records, and asks how careful attention might become a small act of care and repair.

Akshay’s work ‘Broken Provenance’ as part of the exhibition is on view until 28 February 2026, 10am - 6pm.
